In the summer of 2017, Attorney Kaitlin Fallon Wildoner was interviewed by Julie Jenae of Action News Jax about the large backlog facing the Jacksonville Social Security Administration. At that time, Kaitlin’s clients were waiting at least eighteen months for a hearing date after they requested one. Since that time, the wait has gone up to at least twenty months. This wait is unfair for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claimants, as they are typically too sick to work, and the lack of money coming into the household often limits their ability to seek medical treatment.
